&#8220I want to buy the world&#8217s fastest, costly, most effective, and most exquisite soccer mom automobile,&#8221 said no one particular ever, until Bentley and Volkswagen AG saw that crossover SUVs have been so hot, it was time to make the end-all be-all of lifted, elongated, and greater-riding sedan-based &#8220trucks.&#8221 So they developed the Bentley Bentayga, which is specifically that&#8211the globe&#8217s fastest, most powerful, most high-priced, most luxurious crossover SUV produced.

Check out more news on the Lamborghini Urus.

But Volkswagen AG isn&#8217t carried out but with capitalizing the super-crossover SUV market due to the fact they own Lamborghini, and Lamborghini&#8217s been recognized to be operating on their initial crossover SUV ever as well, referred to as the Urus. And it&#8217s around that time that the Urus is due to fulfill its duties to be the world&#8217s quickest and most effective SUV ever, meaning it plans to knock the Bentayga off of its pedestal.

This wouldn&#8217t be the very first time Volkswagen AG actually goes to war with itself, but nonetheless, it gets a lot more exciting simply because despite the Bentayga&#8217s superlatives, no one knows high-performance crossover SUVs like Porsche, with their leading-spec Cayenne Turbo S. Even though it may possibly not be as luxurious as the Bentayga, the funds goes into the blistering performance that the Cayenne Turbo S gives, with an equivalent -62 time to the Bentayga of four.1 seconds. Porsche too, is owned by VAG.

That said, the third contender would be the new Urus, which is mentioned to be a &#8220sub-4-second SUV,&#8221 according to Motoring.com down yonder.

The Urus will also be lighter than the Bentayga and Cayenne, regardless of getting constructed on similar platforms. That would be the future Volkswagen Group MLB modular platform, a modified version of the firm&#8217s earlier PL71 platform that the Cayenne presently rides on. The Bentayga rides on the revised version of that platform although the Urus will share that platform also, but will be reengineered after more for the sake of weight savings.

This indicates far better handling, thanks to the use of carbon fiber and aluminum-intensive integration into the architecture. No official weight projection figure was offered, but for points of reference, the Bentayga weighs about 5,340lbs as it stands, even though the Porsche Cayenne substantially under cuts that by weighing in at a not-so-porky four,927lbs. Either the way, the Urus is said to be lighter than each of those.

Energy? It&#8217ll get a reworked version of Audi&#8217s twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8, which will get a certain tune for its application in the Urus. Once again, no official figures supplied, but estimations hover around 600hp and 664 lb-ft of twist all round.

The production model is slated to finish up at Geneva in 2018, maintaining the idea&#8217s looks aesthetically, with some minor adjustments to adapt for security and federal factors.

The V8 won&#8217t also be the only model, but it will be the debuting version. A plug-in hybrid V6 could join the lineup later on.
