I have been reflecting on a lot of severe issues that occurred in this last year, but there is one particular issue that — most certainly — was not. Those of you who subscribe by way of feed readers or e mail don’t always see some of the stuff I do direct on the blog’s design and style, but over the previous year, I decided to have a little fun with the logo. With every single new holiday or season (or just anytime I felt like it), I changed things up to give my tiny duckling some character.
Speaking of, did we ever choose on a name for this guy? I can’t even bear in mind.
When I redesigned the site, I picked out a brand new logo to go with:
It was straightforward, and that’s element of the cause why I liked it so much. But it also meant I could do random items to it just for enjoyable, like final December when I created him into Duckling Santa (which takes place to be the identical a single that’s up on the internet site now):
In January, I gave him a party hat and confetti, but kept the snowflakes — even although it hardly ever snows right here in Georgia, at least the website was festive!
Whenever there was a very good opportunity, I kept the thought going. Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s Day, etc. I tried to take the “less is far more” strategy with most of them. )
(I know Easter was in March, but it was cute, so I kept it)
By the time my birthday and summer season rolled about, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do regarding holidays, so I went with a a lot more seasonal method to final a handful of months (and not to mention, I spent a lot of that time outside and away from my pc anyway):
And by December, we have been appropriate back to where I began!
It was type of a silly exercising, but it was also a enjoyable way to flex my inventive muscle tissues whenever I discovered myself hitting a style slump (it occurs, and often there’s not a lot you can do about it except push via!) and to see who noticed and left comments about it. A few of you really seemed to like it, so I feel in 2017, I’m going to preserve it going with some new suggestions. They may possibly get a tiny much more obscure if I feel like getting an inside joke or two, but I hope at the very least, it brought a couple of more smiles this year. Have a great one tonight, and I’ll see you all in the new year!
